Single Mothers by Choice Volunteer Lead

Auckland

Fertility New Zealand walks alongside all people facing fertility challenges; we do this by providing in-person support and information to people experiencing fertility issues. We are looking for supportive volunteers to join our team to support our Single Mothers by Choice community in Auckland.

Are you passionate about supporting women on their journey to motherhood? Do you have an interest in donor conception and helping others navigate the unique path to becoming a Single Mother by Choice?

Fertility New Zealand is looking for a dedicated volunteer to co-lead our Single Mothers by Choice support group. This group is for women who are contemplating or attempting motherhood as a single woman via sperm donation. In this role, you will help provide vital support, information, and community to women during a significant and sometimes challenging time in their lives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead monthly support groups alternating between in-person and online. Training will be provided before you start.
• Co-manage our private Facebook group and engage with the community on social media. We’re looking for a social media superstar who can help build awareness and foster connections.
• Admin tasks related to group coordination and communication.

What We’re Looking For:
• An interest in donor conception and the Single Mothers by Choice community.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for creating supportive environments.
• Experience or an eagerness to manage social media and online communities.
• Organisational skills for handling the administrative side of group coordination, including but not limited to setting up Facebook events and booking venues.

Commitment:
• To organise and attend support groups in person and online, held in the morning on the last Sunday of each month. This may change if the date conflicts with a public holiday.
• The time commitment of this role will be 3-6 hours per month, which includes administrative and social media tasks.
• To attend annual training and engage with ongoing development opportunities to increase your knowledge in this role.

If you're ready to make a difference and help empower women on their fertility journey, we’d love to hear from you! This is a great opportunity to be part of a meaningful initiative and gain valuable experience in a supportive, community-focused role.
